Parcel in the Post

My apologies for being absent so long. This flu is really nasty and took hold of me for two weeks straight! Things are hectic at work so no chance of even taking a day or so off, so I suppose that's why it took so long to shake it. I was cheered up no end when I received a parcel from my friend http://sewkalico.blogspot.com/ on the farm a few days ago!

Inside, the most delicious goodies! Some stunning wool yarn, a sewing magazine, a gorgeous crochet pattern for a bag, hat and scarf and two bag handles! I had to laugh when I saw the empty easter egg wrapper inside! Thank you so much Karol-Ann for all the lovely goodies! I cannot wait to use the yarn and handles.

I will be doing the rounds to see what all of my favorite blog friends have been up to the last two weeks and to say hello. In the next few days I will share the few projects I have been busy with lately. Not much, but I hope productivity will improve!

Thanksgiving Swap parcel arrived!

On 8 January 2009 my Thanksgiving Swap parcel from Alexa in Canada finally arrived! Poor Alexa have been frantic that it took so long. What a lovely surprize!

I received the most fantastic goodies from Alexa!

A lovely scented candle in a glass holder; a stunning ceramic pumpkin; dishcloths and potholder in lovely fall colours, the cutest little picture frame, some lovely smelling leave ornaments for the table (what is that lovely smell, Alexa?) and the best of all - a stunning table runner! It is simply awesome! I do not own a table runner and I am delighted with this one! It fits perfectly into my everyday decor and I plan to use it in my dining room.

A closer view of the gorgeous table runner, pumpkin and candle holder.

A close-up pic of the darling little picture frame! THANK YOU so much, Alexa! I adore my loot!

Creative Swap update

What a lovely birthday surprize to find this parcel in my post yesterday! Tulsi, my swap partner in the Creative Swap, sent me the most fabulous stuff!

I am crazy about the brown fabric with pink flowers and butterflies on it! Tulsi even sent me matching plain pink fabric and brown thread! The yellow fabric also came with matching thread and is ideal for my kitchen I am re-doing in yellow. I also received two handbag patterns! cannot wait to make them!

A box of cereal with all my favorite ingredients that I will be enjoying soon and a lovely card with a handwritten note inside. Thank you so much Tulsi! I LOVE everything in my parcel! I appreciate all the trouble you went to to get me stuff that I like.

Swap update

I completed another swap! The Creative Swap was great fun and my partner is the nicest girl! I really enjoyed "getting to know" her secretly on her blog. I hope she likes the stuff I sent.

The Sassy Apron Swap has turned out to be a problem. I have been unable to get any shop to enlarge the Apron pattern I want to use. So last night I improvised! I made my own pattern by doing careful measuring and calculations. And it worked perfectly! So, tonight I can start on the final item for this swap. The parcel should go off early next week.

I will be taking a break from swaps until January since Christmas is coming fast now and I need to get my own stuff done, mostly handmade presents. Very exciting!
